Ben Selleck / Larynx, Tonsils & Vocal chords
Name:Ben Selleck
Instrument:Larynx, Tonsils & Vocal chords
Birthday:14th August 1984
Home Town:Southend-on-Sea
Influences:My parents have been my biggest influence, and I'm thankful and proud to be a cog within the Selleck machine. Musically my influences are ever evolving and forever changing. From a young age singing was something that fascinated me, especially live performances. My parents love for The Eagles, The Carpenters and Elton John cultivated my love for melody and I look back to my childhood with certain fondness as my week seemed to revolve around fish fingers, football, and Friday nights waiting for Top of the Pops. My Idols at this time were the likes of Marti Pellow, George Michael and Jon Bon Jovi.

I remember one day sifting through my parent's record collection and finding an Al Green LP. I placed the needle onto the grooved wax disc, and felt my whole life change as I let music take over. In more recent years I have enjoyed the genres of country, jazz, blues and am a huge fan of James Taylor. I tend not to listen to too much rock music as I feel I run the risk of sponging too many idea’s from the minds of such genius as Tyler, Young etc. To this day the human voice still fascinates me.

I believe that I'm very lucky to be able to make music with my Soliss brothers.

Outside the band:I would describe myself as an introvert with extroverted tendencies. I'm painfully shy in social situations, but I'm very at ease with this fact. I work at a junior school, which I believe it is one of the most rewarding jobs, and I'm also currently studying. I enjoy my sports and trying to stay healthy - and as much as time permits, I love spending time with my friends and girlfriend.
Loves:Jesus, Spurs, Donna Air and acoustic guitars.
Hates:Temptations, Spurs (!!), Janine Butcher and celebrity/reality/gossip magazines.
